Inspection of liquid gas systems

From 19 June 2025, the following applies: LPG systems in motorhomes and caravans must be checked every two years. Safety first!

New driver assistance systems

From 2025, all newly registered motorhomes must be equipped with automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning systems. For more safety when travelling!

Compulsory tachograph for heavy motorhomes

For motorhomes with a total weight of over 7.5 t, a digital tachograph is mandatory if a trailer is pulled. The tachograph also records border crossings and rest periods.

German driving licence: obligation to exchange

Do you still have an old German paper driving licence? If you were born after 1971, you must exchange it by 19 January 2025.

Higher car insurance premiums

Car insurance is becoming more expensive: from 2025, premiums will rise by up to 20%. This is due to higher repair costs and inflation.

CO₂ tax and rising petrol costs

The CO₂ tax is being increased, which is driving up fuel prices even further. Efficient driving pays off now more than ever!

Several European countries are increasing their toll charges in 2025.

Stricter traffic rules and higher fines in the EU

From January 2025, stricter traffic rules will apply in Germany and other EU countries. Serious offences such as significant speeding, driving under the influence and accidents resulting in serious injury or death can lead to driving bans or the confiscation of driving licences across the EU. In addition, countries such as Italy and France are significantly increasing fines for traffic offences. You should therefore be particularly careful to avoid penalties and restrictions.
