Protective Roofs
It protects your caravan from wind and weather
The outside of your mobile home may be durable, but extreme weather can still damage your caravan. A protective roof for caravans prevents that. Many models consist of a stable aluminium profile and a robust PVC tarpaulin. The high-quality materials protect your caravan from any kind of weather and ensure that you can use it for a long time. But, a roof cover alone does not provide all-round protection. Only a suitable roof cover installed by a specialist will prevent water from entering your caravan. That way, you can enjoy your time together with your faithful companion for a long time to come.
Good to know: If you are quite sensitive to noise, you will benefit even more from our caravan roof covers! On top of protecting you from hot and cold temperatures, they also reduce the sounds of rain or hail.
Insulated roof covers insulate your caravan even in extreme temperatures
You enjoy camping in every season? Be it in the icy winter or the record-breaking summer heat, camping is your passion? With an insulated roof cover, all-season camping is possible without any problems. Thanks to the insulation, these roof covers regulate the outside temperatures perfectly. Long periods of sunshine or ice will no longer affect the temperature inside your recreational vehicle. What does that mean for you? If the temperature outside is almost tropical, you can make yourself comfortable in your well-tempered caravan. Sounds like a dream come true, doesn’t it? You can find our insulated roof covers here.
Tip
Are you thinking about getting an insulated roof cover? Nellen roof covers are also available as insulated roof covers for an additional charge.
Winter camping in a caravan? For sure!
Are you wondering how robust your roof cover is if it snows 50 cm or more? For this, Nellen offers two great solutions. Permanent campers will be well equipped for larger masses of snow with a “Type 2” roof cover. If you belong to the rare species of snow-loving permanent campers who are always on the move, however, the “Type 7” roof cover is the right choice for you. This roof cover can remain attached while you’re driving, so that nothing will keep you from going on amazing discovery tours and adventures in the snow. As a special order, you can obtain this model from us via your Frankana Freiko specialist retailer.
Secure even when it storms!
Our roof covers are also perfect for windy coasts and mountain valleys. Depending on the model, they are either secured with elastic straps over the vehicle roof or with lateral guy ropes. Nellen roof covers can also be ordered with optional steel cable tensioning straps instead of the normal guy ropes. Steel cable tensioning straps are more durable and provide additional protection.
With the mobile VANprotect roof covers, you can put in an additional tarpaulin at the front and the back. This protects the front and rear of your caravan as well.
Shape meets function
With VANprotect, curves are the order of the day – with a clever caravan roof cover in the shape of an arch. Its shape and the lateral overhang ensure optimum ventilation between the caravan and the roof cover.
The materials used and the manufacturers’ many years of experience are further quality features. Moisture and rust don’t stand a chance.
Large or small – we have the right protection for every caravan!
What sizes are caravan roof covers available in?
From solo travellers to families – as individual as the travellers themselves, there are of course different roof covers for every type of caravan. The sizes available vary between 380 and 900 cm. Since each model is custom-made, you should specify the model and the model year of your caravan as well as the width and colour you want when ordering. Curious?
How do you set up a roof cover for caravans?
With a little practice, you can install a roof cover by VANprotect on your own. The cover is mounted parallel to the spacer of your caravan and firmly tensioned around the vehicle with straps.
Nellen roof covers are usually only installed once on fixed caravans at a campsite. For long-lasting, optimal protection, these covers must be properly tensioned. With these models, it is best to have them installed by a professional, preferably by a specialist retailer with a workshop.
