Starter batteries and supply batteries are designed for different tasks. To start the engine, starter batteries must initially supply a high current and then serve as an energy buffer with smaller partial cycles. Supply or RV batteries, in contrast, are discharged at lower currents over longer periods of time and then charged again. This means they are subjected to considerably higher loads. These characteristics must be taken into account and require special charging technology to avoid damage and to guarantee a long service life. The IUoU battery chargers use a unique six-stage charging cycle. They provide optimum charging for all gel, AGM and wet batteries because they charge quickly and gently at the same time.
The necessary charging voltage for lithium batteries with BMS (battery management system) can be set via DIP switches. This way, lithium batteries can be optimally charged with MCA chargers.

6-stage IUoU charging characteristic
I phase: At the beginning of the charging process, the empty battery is charged with constant current (100% charging current) until the battery voltage reaches the charging voltage.
Uo phase: The 3-stage absorption charging phase (Uo phase) begins. The duration depends on the battery. The voltage remains constant (Uo). In the first two minutes, the charge of the battery is determined. Then, the main charging phase begins, during which the battery is fully charged. When the battery is fully charged or the charging current is below 6% of the nominal charging current for 15 minutes, the Uo phase is completed.
U phase: The charger switches to trickle charging. Conditioning: Every 12 days, the charger switches back to phase 1 to revive the battery and prevent sulphation.
