Oyster® Access and EasyNet

Mobile internet just like at home – also while driving!

The other members of the Oyster® Internet family

The Oyster® Access and Oyster® EasyNet Internet systems are the smaller siblings of the Oyster® Connect. The basic capabilities are the same for all 3 systems, but they differ in terms of antenna technology - and therefore in terms of reception performance and range. The Oyster® Connect focuses on the best conceivable radio range, which means that the SIM cards have to be inserted into the outdoor unit on the roof. The Oyster® Access and Oyster® EasyNet take a more conventional approach. The connection between the Oyster® Access / Oyster® EasyNet and the Internet can be established in 2 different ways:

  • LTE connection via the mobile phone network using a SIM card inserted by the customer
  • Use of a locally available, publicly accessible WLAN (e.g. on a campsite/pitch or other public WLAN hotspots)

Both the Oyster® Access and the Oyster® EasyNet consist of an electronic unit installed in the vehicle and an external antenna installed on the vehicle roof. With Oyster® Access and Oyster® EasyNet, the connection between the electronic unit and the external aerial is made in the classic way using 4 high-quality coaxial aerial cables.

Unlike the Oyster® Connect, the entire electronics are concentrated in a common and compact housing in the vehicle interior. This also allows the SIM card readers to be conveniently located on the front panel of the Oyster® Access and Oyster® EasyNet.

The systems are also equipped with an intuitive user interface in 6 languages with smartphone optimisation and captive portal compatibility.
