Tents for Six+

Enjoy your group holiday in a 6 person tent

Being surrounded by idyllic forests and meadows – that is what you can look forward to if you’re going on a nature holiday with your friends. You’re already planning your next trip with a group of several people? And now all you need is a comfortable tent? To really get up close and personal with nature, a 6 person tent is particularly suitable for groups. We’ll tell you what you should look out for when buying one.

Is it possible to still have privacy in a tent shared by 6 people? Of course, it is!

With its spacious entrance and several separate sleeping cabins, a dome tent is particularly suitable for larger groups. It offers plenty of space for you to relax and enjoy your privacy. Are you part of a family with teenagers? Then this tent is the perfect choice for you. Your offspring can stay up late in their own cabin while you sleep peacefully in yours. That way, nothing will keep you from having a good night’s sleep – and arguments about bedtimes won’t sour the mood.

Tip

You want to be extra comfortable on your camping holiday with your family or friends? Then subtract one person from the number of people stated. A 6 person tent offers more than enough space for five people.

Storage space for your luggage

From backpacks to hiking gear – do you usually have lots of luggage and don’t know where to stow it when you’re going camping? We have a solution for you. In many family and tunnel tents for 6 people and more, there’s plenty of space for your things in the apsis. That way, you’ll always be ready for your next hiking trip. You can’t wait and want to browse our product range right away?

Tip

Keep the height of the tallest of your fellow travellers in mind when buying your temporary home. That way, everyone can enjoy the camping trip and you won’t have to deal with an unhappy friend or family member. We hope you have a relaxing holiday!

Tall people will no longer get the short end of the stick

You are taller than 1.80 m, but still want to be comfortable and have enough space to move around in a tent? You won’t have to do without either even if you want to accommodate six people. We recommend tunnel and dome tents. As they are usually rather high, you can easily stand up inside – even with your height. You no longer have to duck or crouch down. Interested?

Sleep in even when the sun is shining

Are you sensitive to light and don’t want to be woken up by the morning sun? Then we have a solution for you. Some 6 person tents are equipped with roll-up curtains or BlackOut Bedroom™ technology. These features perfectly block out the sun so that you can relax or take a nap no matter the time of day. You will sleep both longer and more restfully. Curious?

Ventilation openings keep the air in your tent fresh

It is important that tents are well-ventilated, especially on group trips. Most 6 person tents are equipped with mesh windows and ventilation openings on the back. Why? So that the air can circulate well even at night. Mould and humidity don’t stand a chance. Ingenious, isn’t it?

Tip

Are you worried about falling victim to bloodsuckers or other insects during your camping holiday? You don’t have to be. Mosquito nets at the entrance of the tent keep these uninvited guests away. You can therefore sleep peacefully even at the lake.

6 person tents – perfect for any weather

An extended living room when the sun is shining

Would you like to have a sunny veranda for your friends and family when you’re staying at a campsite? Then a tunnel tent for 6 people with a large awning is the perfect choice for you. With a table and four chairs, you can quickly transform it into an extended chill-out area that is ideal for hot summer days. Psst! Even if it rains, you don’t have to worry. With this veranda, you are still perfectly protected. Would you like to take a closer look at tents with spacious living rooms?

A large indoor feel-good area when it rains

Are you looking for a spacious tent where you can sit together comfortably even in bad weather? Then we recommend a tunnel or family tent for 6 people. Some models offer plenty of space inside while pre-bent fibreglass poles allow maximum headroom. Your advantage: these tents create a real feel-good atmosphere. Fans of extended games nights will get their money’s worth with a tent like this. We wish you lots of fun! Are you already thinking about getting one of these tents?

Good to know: A waterproof tent is essential for a camping holiday. When buying a tent, make sure it has a sufficiently high hydrostatic head. That way, you’ll be cosy inside your tent even when it rains.

The compact and light travel companion

Are you travelling with an air mattress, a trolley and a lot of luggage? And wondering how you’re supposed to fit a 6 person tent in your car on top of all that? We have a solution for you: the tunnel tent. With its small pack size and comparatively low weight, it fits into any car boot. Why is it so light? Because the poles are made of GRP fibreglass. Compared to other poles, they are characterised by their ultra-light weight. Do you want to take a closer look at this lightweight and space-saving option?

Tip

Check that your tent equipment is complete before each trip. This will prevent you from having an unpleasant surprise when you arrive at the campsite and you will be well prepared for setting up your temporary home.

Our conclusion:

Camping in a group can be very cosy – and everyone can have plenty of privacy. Ready for a group adventure in the wilderness?

Technical terms simply explained

  • What is an apsis?
An apsis provides additional storage space for luggage. It is, for example, a recess in which you can store your shoes or backpacks. The apsis is usually not located in the actual inner tent, but rather attached to the tent.
  • What is a hydrostatic head?
The hydrostatic head tells you how waterproof a tent is. The value is given in millimetres and measures how much water pressure the tent fabric can withstand. If you use your tent mainly in the summer, a hydrostatic head of at least 2000 mm is recommended. If you also want to go camping during the rest of the year, you should opt for a tent with a hydrostatic head of at least 3000 mm. And when travelling to rainy areas, such as Norway, we recommend a tent with a hydrostatic head of at least 4000 mm.
  • What does BlackOut Bedroom™ technology mean?
This Coleman technology blocks up to 99 % of daylight. It prevents light from entering your sleeping area, so that you can enjoy a restful night’s sleep at any time of day.
  • What is the pack size?
The pack size tells you how much space a product takes up when it is folded or rolled up.
  • What are ventilation openings?
Ventilation openings keep condensation to a minimum. They are usually located at the back or sides of tunnel tents and are kept closed with Velcro. To ventilate the tent, you can simply open them manually.
  • What is GRP fibreglass?
GRP stands for glass-fibre reinforced plastic and is often colloquially called fibreglass. This material is particularly light but nevertheless robust. It is therefore often used for tent poles. Another advantage is that GRP poles can usually be replaced quickly should they become damaged.
