Load Carriers
Folding scooter carriers for motorhomes – a space-saving solution
A spin on your beloved scooter is an absolute must for you when you’re on holiday? Then we recommend this scooter carrier for your motorhome. With this robust helper, you can transport your two-wheeler comfortably and safely.
Good to know: Thanks to the light carrier and the EC type approval, the scooter carrier is registration-free. What does that mean for you? You do not have to register the carrier with the Association for Technical Inspection (TÜV). This makes the practical travel companion a perfect purchase for spontaneous travellers.
Is it difficult to load a scooter onto the carrier? Not at all!
It’s actually very easy. Just push your scooter onto the bike rail and secure it on the retaining bracket with lashing straps – and that’s it. During the journey, your two-wheelers remain fixed in the carrier rail – come what may. Are you ready? Then let the adventure begin.
Psst! We’ll let you in on something else. If you’re ever on the road without your two-wheeled companion, you can fold up the carrier very quickly to save space. Interested?
Load carriers for vans – an uncomplicated companion
This helper fulfils almost any requirement you might have. On this practical slideport, you can easily take your scooter with you while still having access to your storage space at all times. Just slide the carrier to the side and you can grab your backpack or water bottle whenever you need it.
How to get your two-wheeler onto this carrier
Are you wondering how to manoeuvre your speedster onto the carrier? Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a weightlifter. Simply use the practical drive-on rail, push your motorbike onto the platform and secure it with lashing straps. But be careful! To ensure safe transport, your bike or scooter should not weigh more than 120 to 130 kg. You and your loved ones want to arrive safely at your holiday destination, after all.
Thanks to this feature, everyone is going to be happy
You don’t want to do without your Vespa and your favourite person doesn’t want to go on holiday without their bicycle? Then this carrier offers an excellent compromise. With an additional bike rail that you fix to the platform with a few screws, you can take both two-wheelers with you. But always make sure that the net load capacity is not exceeded. This can be the case especially when transporting 125 ccm scooters and e-bikes. After you have fixed your motorbike on the platform rail with lashing straps, push the bike into the additional bike rail. Then you just need to secure it in the holder with a ratchet fastener. With this clever transport option, an exciting holiday is guaranteed.
The ideal travel companion for (almost) all two-wheelers
From motorbikes to e-bikes – Are you looking for a practical transport option for your whole family’s two-wheeled companions? Then a load and bike carrier is ideal for you. You can use it to transport your motorbike as well as two bicycles comfortably and safely from A to B. With its ultra-light 29 kg, it is one of the flyweights among load carriers. The advantage: Compared to other carriers, its own weight has only a minor influence on the axial load of your motorhome. That way, you can attach several speedsters to this helper. It is equipped with three drive-on rails for easy assembly and ratchet fasteners for fixing. But be careful! Together, your bikes should not weigh more than 120 kg.
Quick & easy – assembly is child’s play
This practical travel companion is attached directly to the chassis of your motorhome or van – you don’t need a tow bar. You will, however, need a load-bearing frame extension and a wiring kit. To ensure that everything is fitted properly, the carrier should always be fitted by a specialist workshop.
What do I have to keep in mind when using the carrier?
- Check whether you can attach a carrier to your vehicle. You can usually also upgrade your vehicle with an additional frame extension. Contact your specialist retailer for this.
- Always pay attention to how much additional weight you can load onto your vehicle. Usually, it is up to 120 kg.
Technical terms simply explained
- What is a bike rail?
This is the rail onto which the bike is placed. - What is EC type approval?
EC type approval is a test number for the general type approval of vehicles. To obtain EC type approval, a vehicle or individual components and add-on parts must fulfil certain requirements. The approval applies to a specific vehicle type as well as vehicles of the same design. If the add-on part has EC type approval, it may be installed with the respective vehicle and does not have to be added to the vehicle registration document. - What is a frame extension?
As the name suggests, this is an extension of the actual vehicle frame. A distinction is made between a simple frame extension and a load-bearing frame extension or frame reinforcement. A simple frame extension is located under the rear garage, for example, and only carries the body and approx. 100 to 120 kg of additional load. It cannot carry the weight of the bearing load of a trailer. This requires a load-bearing frame extension or frame reinforcement. Load carriers are equipped with a frame reinforcement to which the components are attached. - What is a lashing strap?
Lashing straps are straps with a tensioning device that are used to fasten and fix objects. Therefore, they are often used for securing loads. Lashing straps are also called tensioning straps. - What is the axial load?
The axial load is the part of the total weight that rests on a vehicle axle. Total weight in this case means the vehicle’s own weight plus the weight of the load. The permissible axial load must not be exceeded. - What is a light carrier?
If the rear lights of your vehicle are hidden by the bikes, you need a light carrier. This carrier is equipped with all necessary rear lighting devices and allows you to participate safely in road traffic. - What is a drive-on rail?
Drive-on rails make it easier to load the carrier. You simply drive the bicycles or motorbikes onto the rail and no longer have to be lifted onto the carrier. They are therefore particularly beneficial for heavier e-bikes and motorbikes.
