Roof luggage boxes – everything you need for a great holiday
Camping enthusiasts are familiar with the situation: There is way too much luggage that has to come along. After all, there are things for everyone who’s going on holiday with you – family, friends, grandma and grandpa. Plus things for your pet. Plus sports and leisure equipment. And then there is the fact that you would naturally also like to arrive at your holiday destination reasonably comfortably.
So where do you put all the luggage? Fortunately, there are convenient rear or roof luggage boxes. So that you can start enjoying your camping holiday as soon as you pack!
Car roof boxes – lots of space for your luggage!
Are you one of those who think anything could happen on a camping holiday? And therefore prefer to take a bit more with you on holiday to be prepared for all eventualities? Then a roof box for your vehicle is the perfect purchase. When choosing your portable storage space, please make sure that the box is compatible with your vehicle. You will find the relevant information in the respective product descriptions of our roof boxes. Have fun browsing through our collection.
Box on the roof – don’t drive too fast
The roof box increases not only the total weight of your car but also the air resistance. But with a somewhat more moderate speed and if you adapt your driving accordingly, you will have a good and safe journey. And you can already start relaxing on the drive to your holiday.
Load the roof luggage box correctly – like this!
To ensure that you and your luggage arrive safely at your holiday destination, we have put together a few practical tips for you:
- Heavy items should always be placed at the bottom and in the middle of the box.
- Avoid gaps and pack as evenly as possible. That way, nothing can slip and you make optimal use of your storage space.
- Sensitive items can be protected with cushions, blankets or similar insulating material.
- We recommend securing your holiday equipment separately if necessary. Especially in case you have to brake heavily. Lashing straps or safety nets, for example, are suitable for this.
Tip
When it comes to roof boxes, you should keep the maximum roof load of your vehicle in mind. You can usually find this value in your vehicle description and can easily calculate the roof load by adding the weight of the roof rack and the roof box. If you then subtract the result from the maximum roof load, you will know exactly how much luggage you can pack on the roof of your car.
Luggage boxes for rear racks
Do you already have a rear luggage rack? Or would you like to transport your box on the easier-to-reach rear of your vehicle for practical reasons? Then take a look at our variable rear boxes. They are easy to attach to your rear luggage rack. Perfect for sports and camping equipment that you can quickly and easily take out en route. Or if you have already arrived at the campsite.
Save weight with a lightweight luggage box!
If you want to save weight, we recommend a durable box made of water-repellent nylon. This box is particularly suitable for light but bulky camping accessories such as camping chairs, mattresses or cushions. This way, you can easily keep an eye on the total weight of your rear luggage rack.
