Current information: Toll for vans over 3.5 t – special regulation for motorhomes
From 1 July 2024, vans weighing 3.5 t or more will be subject to a toll.
However, motorhomes with fixed furniture are exempt, provided they are only used to transport passengers.
There may be problems with lorries with box bodies that have been converted into motorhomes. In this case, voluntary registration with registration certificate part I, photos of the interior and information on use is possible. This is initially valid for two years and can be extended.
Usually motorhomes are built upon chassis of commercial vehicles. Normally, different priorities are applied to such vehicles. Thus, the extra-wide body of motorhomes makes them look "narrow-gauged" and out of proportion. In addition, many motorhomes are susceptible to side wind. Using the TÜV-certified wheel spacers by Goldschmitt, a widening of up to 60 mm is achieved (even 70 mm for the Ford Transit, built 2006/05 until 2014/04), sustainably improving the vehicle's look and handling. The wheel spacers are suitable for serial steel rims only. Delivery includes a pair per axis.
